The clients invested in the home for themselves primarily for the reason that the living/dining windows and openings offer uninterrupted views of the natural lake along the edge of the development. Taking inspiration from this, our goal when designing the interiors was to bring in subtle reminders of the lake outside, even when not being directly observed. 

To achieve this, we proposed the replacement of the builder-provided glossy tile flooring with leather-finish Kota stone. A natural stone that mimics the color of the water of the lake and has a tactile, undulating texture, reminiscent of the ripples on the surface of the water.  A simple step that took the project beyond the basic brief and requirements provided to us.
